Well, as I am sure you have noticed I have not updated for a while. And as I am sure you can imagine this is because I have been getting to grips with the fatherhood thing. And jolly good it is to. I had two weeks off after Milos birth - a week of paternity leave and a week of holiday and it was wonderful to spend this with Abby and Milo. The great adventure has started.
Milo has his own mini-website which is only for family and friends and is at the moment primarily a photo album but will have other stuff in it when I get a chance. If you haven't already got access to it and you know me or Abby then email me for a password.
As you can imagine I haven't really been doing much else - I did a track for a .microsound project and an earlier project the parasites rework project was released. There are lots of tracks there as well as mine and the whole list is well worth a listen.
I read Ian McEwan's Atonement whilst I was off. This book is deserving of a lot of the good things you will have heard about it. The writing is incredable and draws you right in. It has a whole post modern thing of being on one level about itself as a book - but instead of seeming like an obvious "device" or experiment this too is seemlessly merged into the whole. Check this book out - you don't often get a chance to read writing of this apparentley effortless brilliance. Also worth mentioning is Ian Rankins "Blood Hunt" - not one of his Rebus books but one of the ones writen as Jack Harvey. This is an excellent thriller and the last third kept me up well into the wee small hours to find out what happened. Currently reading The 13.5 lives of Captain Bluebear which is most promising so far.
Record wise Robert Hampson of Main seems to be releasing stuff once more - in particular the comae release is well worth tracking down.
Oh well back at work with a new focus and enthusiasm - the whole "Son being born" thing was a little bit distracting as you might imagine (<*grin*>).
