Whizzing past

Just thought I'd better drop by and say hello. September is busy busy busy. A number of things have co-incided at work and there is lots to do. The lsat couple of weeks saw a couple of trips up to the northen branch of the Library up at Boston Spa and a day in York. It was odd visiting York again - when I was younger I knew it well and spent quite a lot of time there. Its interesting to see what had changed and what hadn't. I'm really loving working for the library - there are some great people here (and some real characters) and I'm begining to see that there is a new wind in the library. There is a lot of new blood drawn from industry (including the entire board) and there does seem to be change afoot. There are also some really cool projects of which ours is one.
In a couple of weeks we are hosting a conference - still not quite sure what that entails but making sure lots of people are happy while still getting loads of work done would seem to be the order of the day and just in case that seems to easy I'm off to Bath the day before for a workshop. Like I say - busy.
If you want to spy on what I am upto day to day you can check out my "moblog" on flickr (see link in the entry below) I can now email pictures direct from my new phone straight to the web so if I'm out and about the chances are I will post something. And of course the best way not to miss anything is to subscribe to the RSS feed.
Loads of cool stuff on the go - mostly work related but the secret project is looking good too. We are hoping to get some of our stuff into the world as open source soon too.
