As you have probably noticed I'm on a bit of a lull on the old junklight front. Mostly because I am very busy and fairly strapped for cash. This kind of limits what I get up to and I don't really feel like constantly moaning about the pitiful excuse for a rail service between the library and Ely or how strange I find the public sector.
I am working on Junklight stuff. I've been working on some new music and I've got a collection of poems creeping slowly forward as well. I am still hoping to move Junklight to a new server at some point in the near future which will be accompanied by a site -re-design and making available all my old music and hopefully some new stuff. Obviously don't hold your breath though. I will get round to it when I do.
In the mean time some wonderful things: Music - The Angels of Light - in particular the last two albums. The new Van Der Graaf Generator album. Folklore by 16 Horsepower, Bob Dylan, ...and the ambulance died in his arms by Coil, Maarifa Street by Jon Hassell. Books - Jasper Fforde who is just a breath of fresh air and very entertaining to boot, Michael Marshall Smith whose one of us brought a tear to my eye at one point - something books don't often do to me and whose books as Michael Marshall feature the same kind of headfuck horror my friend Rick is so good at. Ian Rankins new book Fleshmarket Close is also rather brilliant and in my opinion a step above the ordinary crime novel. TV wise the new Dr Who series is very enjoyable indeed and I watched the first episode of In the thick of it last night. I find Armando Iannuccis appearances on radio 4 excruciating but this series really does look like its going to be a "Yes Minister" for the 2000's.
